Make Money Anywhere While Doing What You Love

Karen Kay

Hi Gang, Nice to be among such awesome people! Second LIfe Help available here

I did not go to UnSeminar, but Barb told me I could join anyway!

I am a member of Portable Empire Island in Second Life, and have recently published a guide just for newbies to the 2nd Life world.

I think Barb was hoping I could be a resource for some of you who may be a little shy about giving Second Life a try,

In addition to making contacts for your existing online business, there are plenty of ways within second life itselft to earn extra income. Most of it requires learning a new skill, but I have seen some very creative entrepreneurs come up with uniquie opportunities within the Second Life world.

Anyway, you are welcome to ask me anything! If I don't know the answer, I know how to find it!

Talk to you soon!

KK

P.S. I am attaching a picture of our Second LIfe in-world mastermind group. Pat says he thinks we are the first of our kind! Just another fun way to use this as a tool, rather than look at it as a "game".

Thanks for making yourself available, KK. Neat picture. We will all be connecting on so many different levels we'll be feeling like we're all part of one another - well I suppose we are....

Dru was in charge of Amelia Island (where portable empire is located) and a few others, but there is plenty of other land available. I wouldn't purchase anything on Amelia Island until the logistics are worked out re: new management.

Also, the price of land is plummeting right now due to the extraordinary large amount of new land being created.

Might do to hold off anyway. If your in a hurry and don't want to wait however, just right click on the ground the plot your are interested in, and a menu will pop up. Choose "about land". There you will see instructions on how to purchase. You'll probably still see Dru's outdated message on Amelia, but keep checking back.

Hope that helps for now. I will do some more looking into Amelia Island in particular for you Moo, er. um I mean Kate hehe.

Hey that's awesome re: Steven Pierce...

Tell them they all need my Guide! lol

Re how is money exchanged.....

When you wish to buy something, right click on it.

if it is for sale, there will be a "Buy" option.

To find out how much it is you generally need to click on "buy"

You then have the option to confirm the purchase.

Be sure of what you are purchasing though...

Once it's done, it can't be undone. You may

be able to convince the seller to give you a refund

but it is entirely up to them as to whether or not to do so.

You asked how money is "exchanged" , so I assume you

need to know also how to get money. Aside from selling

items, which is a whole nother ball '0 wax that I am not

extremely knowledgeable about, you can either fund your

account via paypal, or do some of the mundane and extremely

low paying things within 2nd life to earn Linden. One way,

for example is "camping". Vendors will "pay" you simply to

camp out at their establishment so that it will appear on the

map and in their advertisements that they have a great deal of traffic.

The pay is extremely low however. IMHO I say it's a waste of time

unless you plan on doing it while doing something else.

Re: how much is land....

Land costs vary, and in many cases the land is actually free or very

inexpensive. What costs is the monthly fee to use the land,

which you pay to the owner of the SIM. It does get kinda complicated.

I pay 15 U.S. dollars per month for my little piece of Amelia Island.

I receive a 300 Linden per week stipend from them also, so it winds

up costing me about 10 bucks a month. Every SIM is different, and

there are a lot of variations. Whenever you try to purchase land, you

will get usually a notecard with all the details about it. I would read

that very carefully first.

Later Tater!
