Hello Maryellen,
My www.artworkontheweb.com site was done in html first then using Adobe Pagemill. I have several attempts in IWeb part of the ILIfe 08 software in the new Apple OS Leopard.
I built a Virtual Artroom site and one for my husband's music in IWeb,( cannot get to them without my main computer..so they are in rough stages). Our Evesgardentexas.com was built by a web design team.
I am very interested in Dreamweaver and have several books on it and also in the Creative Suite 3 software, that I just bought for the G5 computer that is soon to be back with a new motherboard and hard drive...Yeah!
How about you? What are you using? We could start swapping some how-tos.... Hope this answers your questions...blessings, Joan
Anybody working on setting up Aweber autoresponders, here is their guide...when you guys figure out an easy way to get the opt in form on the web site..tell me please..
Also attaching a how to handout on doing podcasts..sorry this is for Mac people with garageband software,,,love you,.thanks, Joan
If you use Aweber then follow this link (most autoresponder services work the same way) http://www.aweber.com/video-tutorials.htm and then click on the "Add a Web Form Opt-in to Your Website" for a video that walks you through the process of adding an optin form to your web pages.
If you're using a "WYSIWYG" webpage editor that shows you what the page looks like you must change to the "code view" to add the code from the autoresponder onto your webpage.
This sometimes confuses people who aren't used to working in html code as they don't know where to inset the code to get the optin form where they want it. A quick tip is when you're in the page view "WYSIWYG" put about 10 X's in a line (or even your name if you like).
Then when you change to the code view you just look for the line's of X's or whatever you put, delete then and paste the code in there place. Save your page and bingo the optin form should be where you wanted it to be.
Thanks Malcolm, you have given me a wealth of information, my main computer should be back soon that has my FTP software for uploading and downloading pages and all my web site info...cannot wait to go through your steps and see that Opt-in form on my site beginning to capture names and emails...thanks,love you, Joan
A couple of quick questions... is your computer a PC or a Mac? Secondly, what sort of website are you looking to put up - a simple one page sales & e-mail address collection site or a full blown multi page website?
Once we have this information it will be easy to point you in the right direction.
I now have a 30 page web site and I want to add music with a stream and some music with short samples to influcene people to buy MP3's. www.itsmysymphony.com
I have dreamweaver. I used to use it exclusively but I had a difficult time getting it to do some layout things. I changed to site sell and I use dreamweaver to convert any text I need converting into HTML.
Hello Maryellen,
....so you know Dreamweaver, Good for you! I look forward to learning it! Site sell--hmmm do not know that one!
Perhaps you would consider putting some step by step instructions on converting text into HTML,
I cannot wait to get to my applications folder on my main machine....(coming soon)
Yeah...You and I have a call this evening, looking forward to it...it is SKYPE and can it be recorded? Tell me how do you record a SkYPE call? Love you, thanks, Joan
