Make Money Anywhere While Doing What You Love

What are people doing to build their portable empire? I'm curious to hear of ways that people plan to make a living through their computer or the web or whatever. Besides, we need to wake up this forum and get some dialog going.

I have been studying web marketing for a while now. I have run a couple Google Adwords campaigns with no success yet. My website - http://www.pool-and-pocket-billiards-resource.com/ has been running for about a year and a half now. I started Google Adsense ads on my site about six months or so ago. I am just coming up to the $100 dollar limit to get paid a check. I need to get way more traffic on my site so I can make a respectable income from Google ads. I have recently begun a renewed effort to add some more content to my site and bring my traffic rankings up much higher. Karen Kay has given me some excellent suggestions. Any one else care to chip in?

Ernie,

I blog a lot. I used to use adwords.....

Now I'm getting into articles and press releases.

I just saw Marie Osmond's son on the news... so... maybe I'll write something for...

http://www.forbiddenaddictionvideos.com

.... for example.....

Can you write articles?

Do a promo that benefits a charity?

Have a good bumpersticker made up....

http://www.buyjohnabeer.com was a bumpersticker campaign that did well....

Just some thoughts mate, and a few shameless plugs for my older stuff.

Great to meet you.

What exactly is Web 2.0 Pat? A mind set? Social networking? Blogging? I searched the web for it and still don't quite understand what it is. How do you plan to use it to your and other's advantage?

That's some interesting stuff there 20/20. May I ask if you make your living strictly from the web and your seminars? How does one get to become a professional visionary? Just declare it? You seem like a pretty busy guy. I admire your ability to get so many things going.

Hi Ernie,

I got back on the net in 2002, after meeting Carol.

Last March she retired from the Insurance industry to work with me full time here.

It's been very interesting learning how to go full time here.

And it's a very different mind set.

Even though "daily income" is possible, and nice, having the ability to deal with slow periods while you gear up for a "big release" can be very useful.

We've had huge weekends, many thousands of dollars.... and we've had relatively dry weeks... and that's kool too.

Of course, let me say that the slow weeks were because it wasn't until 2007 that I began to get the value of building a list.

So... build lists my friend.

++++

On the Professional Visionary thing.

Here's a quick answer.

A professional visionary has three areas of life in his awareness.

Vision, Clarity, Focus.

Clarity is knowing what do you want? Being able to answer that question - and actually answering it - changes everything.

Focus, knowing what to do TODAY and taking action on it.... Those tiny steps we often need a little guidance or coaching on....

And Vision. Vision is the most important, and most often overlooked.

Vision is: How does "this course of action" effect my family, friends, society, grandkids.

I am an internet marketer, professional visionary, etc... for my grandkids, and for yours.

I lived the life of "the hostage" literally, and metaphoricly for years. Always bound by demands.

Today... I decide and discover what else is possible for me...

So they have a better chance of discovering what's possible for them.

Leading by example. Living by design.

Whoo yah!

Thanks for writing Ernie, you helped me get some clarity this morning.

Boy, I've read it a hundred times now - "you need to build a list". That was the mantra of Pat's book too. I need to figure out how to build a list from my pool and billiards site. I have some ideas for sites that are probably more prone to building lists, but I want to get this one really cranking first.

Thanks for the imformative answer 20/20.

Thank YOU Ernie,

People. People are my accountability system.

Since I wrote "to you", I took my own advice and put up another listbuilder at:

http://www.ultimate-persuasion-package.com

It's a pop up, that gives away one of my old products, where I teach some simple persuasion and swear like a sailor.

And it builds another list for me.

Thank YOU mate for asking the question, that inspired me to do something extra today.

Janelle-

Thank you very very much for the super informative reply. Great ideas! I think it's a good idea to write some articles slanted towards the beginner pool player. More experienced players probably subscribe to the online magazines already but beginners may not know where to go for info yet.

I see you have a beef jerky site. How do you make out with that? I recently signed on with a network marketing company out of Idaho Falls with all natural health and wellness and home products. I'm not big on doing the personal selling thing but I hope to get some prospects from the web. I still have to set up a site for that. So many ideas and limited time!

Good luck with your sites and thanks again for the suggestions.

I'm currently implementing a W2.0 system that I'm learning from Alex Sysoef. Check it out.

Ryan-

Thanks for posting that link. That Profitable Blogging ebook is quite the composition! I have been reading it at work but there is too much information to digest at one sitting. I plan to go home and print it out as I have been thinking of starting a blog and this seems to be an excellent tutorial.

Have you done a blog yet, and if so what is the address?

Lots of writing to do. I have been writing new pages for my pool site and have ideas for quite a few more. It sure takes time though between actually writing the content, finding and loading images, and formatting the page. It kills me to be sitting here at work when I could be writing more pages and articles! Got to get this thing going! ;-)

Your welcome Ernie. I'm actually putting the finishing touches on the setup of my 1st blog using Alex's system. As soon as it is loaded I will be posting the link in this thread.

Launch date is set for 6am 11/22/07.

I just killed my website ( i deleted the public_html file w/no backup) so it looks like no launch of www.improveusa.com

Probably was divine guidance as I was really in a hurry. I'll try it again after Thanksgiving.

Everybody have a happy and safe Holiday!
