Make Money Anywhere While Doing What You Love

What are people doing to build their portable empire? I'm curious to hear of ways that people plan to make a living through their computer or the web or whatever. Besides, we need to wake up this forum and get some dialog going.

I have been studying web marketing for a while now. I have run a couple Google Adwords campaigns with no success yet. My website - http://www.pool-and-pocket-billiards-resource.com/ has been running for about a year and a half now. I started Google Adsense ads on my site about six months or so ago. I am just coming up to the $100 dollar limit to get paid a check. I need to get way more traffic on my site so I can make a respectable income from Google ads. I have recently begun a renewed effort to add some more content to my site and bring my traffic rankings up much higher. Karen Kay has given me some excellent suggestions. Any one else care to chip in?

OK. I jumped on the blog bandwagon - http://erniereynolds.wordpress.com/. Now I have to come up with some content. It was pretty easy to sign up, but now I have to learn how to modify and manipulate the blog so I can make it how I like it. And of course, use it to get some more traffic for the web site. I think I am turning into a writer whether I like it or not.
Well,
All in synch with Pat's bringing marketing to Second Life, I created an ebook on the subject called "Marketing in Second Life", which I am giving away in the big Santa Sal Giveaway event.

Santa Sal's Giveaway JV link

Sal (Harris Fellman's Nutty Mafia Dude Character) extended the deadline from Friday until today, so if you want to get in on the giveaway, you still have a little time.

Gifts are available tomorrow I think to non JV partners, and that is how you can get my guide to marketing in Second Life. All Free, nothing to sign up for (from my gift anyway)...so have a good time with it and see you in Second Life!

Cheers!

What have I been up too?
Finally and finishing up my cafe press store: http://www.theinspiredstore.com
Still have to do some geek stuff to get the "sections" up propertly. But that's okay, cause it's up!!!!!

I am also going to the the "stumble" stuff too! I have it on my bar, but never really use it.
Oh well, time will tell!

Ernie,

I was out with Carol tonight, while standing at the bar... I saw some pool stuff on the tv.

There was a quick segment with Biography info.

You could probably gain some kick arse traffic if you had "candid biographies" of the greats.

I am sure people are looking for the scoop on their hero's.....

Maybe even do an interview or two. I see pool as a great tool to teach goal setting to at risk kids etc.

Doing interviews with that in mind....

hmmmm

PS: Want to stumble http://www.excusefreeworld.org for me?

Thanks for the idea 20/20. That idea has already crossed my mind. The beauty of the web is that all the information is already out there, you just have to go get it and package it the way you like. I do plan to do some kind of biography type thing of the top pool players eventually on my site. I need more hours in a day you know?

I stumbled your site but it looks like somebody beat me to it because it didn't tell me that I had found a new site. Did you get a jump in traffic?

20/20 and Ernie,

You've given me some great ideas about my health and wellness gurus and providing bios and interviews with them on my site.
Sheesh, the possibilities continue to be endlessly endless. Overwhelmed, not me! Energized? Oh yes.
Thanks!

I did an article on concentration today for my pool blog - http://www.pool-and-pocket-billiards-resource.com/Pool-blog.html. I was feeling pretty smug until I went to your blog Siouxz. You have some nice long articles on there! My pool blog only allows up to 500 words for whatever reason. My article has 497. I was impressed by the quality and content of your writings - you really know your stuff. I plan to do about 10 or so more articles and collect them into an ebook, and I would definitely suggest you do the same. It would make a nice gift for grabbing email addresses of even to sell.

I own a domain name that is similar to what your site is about - UnlockingNaturesSecrets.com. I have started coming up with ideas for that site. I plan on including things like EFT, natural cures, hypnosis, tea tree oil, and other things that will contribute to a healthy life ,while using only natural products and services to do it. I kind of like the web page format a little more than the blog, but you can't argue with the search engines, and supposedly blogs are very much in favor with them these days. I guess I'll have to do both.

I stumbled your blog and it told me that I had found a new site so I did a short review. You should probably see a jump in traffic in the next day or so. I'd be curious to know if this happens.

Hey there Ernie,

Thanks for the compliments about content and quality of my blog...I drink feedback up like a great wine!
I wonder why your pool blog only allows 500 words?
Weird.

Good idea about the ebook...I'll be writing a ton on Christmas Day...no kids that day...so I will be doing some compiling and pulling together of lots of stuff I've written with the goal being to have something--2 or 3 e books
ready to proof for my mastermind group on the 26th. I hope to be launching before the year's out.

I'm curious about your UnlockingNaturesSecrets site...very cool concept...are you going to sell stuff or just discuss what is out there?

Keep on keepin' on, I know I am...slowly but surely.

Thanks for the stumble, too, Ernie.

Hi Ernie-

you need to get your own list going... adsense is just one tool.

and set up a social networking page on each of the big SL sites for your business. with links pointing back at your sales page.

and so on and so on... LOL

Hi Pat-

I could use a little clarification on your reply. What are the "big SL sites" and how do I set up a social networking page on them? I'm still a rookie at this stuff Pat, and unfortunately I didn't make it to your seminar. Thanks.

Well that's so kind of you Ernie! Thanks for the Kudo's

Not sure what Pat meant by SL unless he meant Second Life?

Anyway, What's happening with me is I found Twitter a couple days ago.

Very fun! You get to follow people you like, and people follow you.

It makes blogging look so like yesterday's news....

Y'all come join me? Free, no upgrades, nothing. Just a cool site.

to find me, search for KarenLKay w/ no spaces

Post your twitter name and we can all follow each other!

Hi KK, thanks for the link to your twitter. I just set mine up as SimplyD. I just have my blog in there right now. I'd been hearing a lot about twitter recently and you finally prompted me to see what all the fuss was about... Thanks for the motivation. =)

D

I'm working on a logo right now, all I know is it has to have a big ol D in there somewhere, even if it is reminiscent of Laverne and Shirley! It all started because little kids couldn't easily pronounce my name so "D" was always easier and it became my little trademark at work over the years.....I like to keep it simple...........................
