Sorry about that- one of the requirements for a Portable Empire is dependable, robust internet access. Tonight, I don't have that. I'll check in and monitor the conversation here, and next week I'll be back with my usual Wimberley broadcast.

Just stopping in to say hello. Sorry that you won't be "live on the air" tonight, but that's what happens when you journey out into the hinterlands of Tejas, I suppose.

That reminds me of a story from my U.T. days in the early Seventies. A buddy and I left class one afternoon, drove all the way to Marathon and Big Bend, went backpacking for a few days, then accidentally drove five hours into middle-of-nowhere-Mexico before finally realizing that we were heading south instead of north. Hmm, had something to do with something that I had "eaten," if I recall correctly. Woah. It was a long drive back.

Anyway, gotta leave now, drive home to Virginia in a much different state of mind, and see the kids. Hope you have a nice time at the cabin and that you make mucho progress on the phone, wireless, etc.

Suggestion... that rethreading time? Why not take the challenge up and stay off of twitter and all social media sites for 24 hours and REALLY rethread? You can tweetlater for all those followers who would be missing you. Then go really deep inside your own mind and space... see what you see without the outside addictive interacting.
